About Us

Buzz Walsh-Beney is a passionate and experienced psychotherapist who has spent many years helping people navigate life’s ups and downs. She is a BABCP-accredited cognitive behavioral psychotherapist (CBT) , an Occupational Therapist, and a University Lecturer on a Clinical Psychology Doctorate programme. In addition to teaching, she supervises fellow therapists and works in private practice. Before moving into teaching, Buzz worked for over 13 years in the NHS, where she gained valuable insight not only into evidence based practice, wellness and wholeness but also into the resilience of the human spirit and the importance of supporting wellbeing holistically. With a wealth of experience and expertise in both physical and mental health she holds a special interest in the wellbeing of women and the very specific challenges that they face across the lifespan.

As she experienced firsthand the power of the natural world in her own life, Buzz felt an undeniable pull towards further training in nature based therapies that she now integrates in to her therapeutic work. This led to the creation of The Rooted Path Ecotherapy, where she helps others connect with peace, resilience, laughter and strength through the healing connection between mind, body, and nature.

Warm, knowledgeable, compassionate, and deeply committed to her work, Buzz believes in the power of ecotherapy and the natural world to guide us through life’s triumphs and challenges.

A word from Buzz...

For many years, I’ve felt the long lasting benefits of opening myself to and being with nature—through both joyful moments and life’s challenges. As the years have passed, with all their ups and downs, I’ve found myself—like so many women before me—turning more and more to the natural world and the "more-than-human" for support, guidance, and a sense of belonging.

As women, we are not just observers of nature—we are deeply woven into its rhythms, cycles, and wisdom. As life gets busy, we so often find ourselves disconnecting from our natural homelands, sometimes only seeking it out when life feels overwhelming. This loosening of our links with the Earth can lead to a feeling of loss and suffering which we are very often not aware of.

I believe that nature is a very powerful tool for healing but is is also a place of deep joy, laughter and connection both with other humans and with the wider environment. Even more importantly than that—it is home.

I have seen firsthand how reconnecting with the natural world can transform our mental well-being, sense of self, and overall health. It’s a privilege to share this work with you through The Rooted Path. I very much hope to see you soon!
